The Pine Siskin and Crossbills in the Island Garden

The Pine Siskin (Carduelis pinus)

There are many of these little fellows in our yard. Seems like they enjoy our  bird baths and feeders. They are small birds but certainly not pushovers just look at the following pictures:

Always on look out who is coming to the feeder

One would not want to argue with this one

Telling the crossbill that he is not welcome at this feeder.?

Now I am really mad at you!

Pine Siskin the Great protector

The feeder is full no room for this little one

Waiting patiently my turn

This pine siskin was intrigue by the bubling water on top of the fountain.

Now, that was fun
